I recently read a fantasy book called The Land Of Stories: The Wishing spell by Chris Colfer. This book is about 2 twins, Alex and Connor Bailey, who get a book from their grandmother called The Land Of Stories for their 12th birthday. After seeing that the book glows they realize that the book may not be what they think. Testing out their theory that the book is “magic”, Alex and Connor fall into the book and end up in The Land Of Stories! After almost being eaten by a witch and attacked by wolves, Alex and Connor realize that they need to find a way home. After going to a frog-mans house, Alex and Connor are given a book about the wishing spell. The Wishing Spell will grant you 1 wish if you collect all the items on the list but the spell can only be used twice and a man already used it before. Alex and Connor go on a scavenger hunt to find all the items but what they didn’t realize is they aren’t the only people wanting their wish granted. The Evil Queen had escaped from Snow White’s Dungeon and she is also collecting all the items for the Wishing Spell. Who do you think will get their wish granted? I would give this book 5/5. This book is very descriptive, it is a good length, it uses age-appropriate text, you can really tell how the characters feel and the book is very imaginative. I would recommend this book to anyone who like fantasy books but if you don’t, you should still read the book! Next to read… The Land Of Stories: The Enchanters Return!
